Meet Sam Hickson

Sam Hickson laughs at MiAL’s nickname for him - the UAL Veteran, having studied at LCC, CSM he just finished his course at Wimbeldon in which he specialised in print. Sam’s work is fuelled by the confrontation between the “Self” and “Other”. A pushing and pulling between the rational and the ephemeral and observing the self from a critical distance.

Wimbledon College of Art has a prestigious reputation, the smallest of all University of the Arts colleges and found in the leafy suburbs it is a place where students seem to flourish.

Painting, drawing and sculpture students from Wimbledon produce interesting work and their close contact with tutors and great studio space seems to give them great opportunity for expression.
