Maria Tasca lives and works in London. She graduated in Visual Arts from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte in 2018, and then collaborated with the gallery GAL Arte & Pesquisa, also in Belo Horizonte. She has participated in two artist residencies, one lead by Bené Fonteles and the other by José Spaniol, both in Bragança Paulista, Brazil. In 2019, she moved to Switzerland for a year of studies in Anthroposophy at the Goetheanum in Dornach and later, in Basel, worked in collaboration with the artist Alex Silber and developed independent art projects with WIR artist collective. In 2021, Tasca began the MA Illustration programme at Camberwell College of Arts.

Tasca has had two solo shows: Dentro Onde Não Caibo, in Belo Horizonte in 2018 and 2019, and Paralela in Bragança Paulista, 2019. Among the group shows she exhibited at, the following are highlights: Xhibit at Koppel Project, London, 2022, for which she was awarded the Cass Art Prize; Temporada de Verão at GAL Arte & Pesquisa in Belo Horizonte, 2022; OFF OPERATION at Brasilea Foundation, Basel, 2021 – a duo show with Alex Silber; Bound to Earth at Goetheanum in Dornach, 2020; and Cardápio Underground at Edith Cultura, Bragança Paulista, 2019.
