Since then the Aliyev family and their allies have consolidated their hold on the wealth of Azerbaijan. Controlling banks, gold fields and oil extraction. Police and government repression of dissenting voices is also common. Azerbaijan is ranked near the bottom of the press freedoms index, and the image here shows 158 images of jail cell bars, one for each of the political prisoners in the country."
