"The dancer depicts a figure dancing among other fragmented figures in the dark, suggesting either the euphoria of a lively nightclub or party, or the loneliness of dancing alone with the ghostly figments of your imagination.
I am interested in where opposites such as expansiveness and emptiness, colour and darkness, and loneliness and oneness intersect. On one hand it reflects the loneliness of London - a city so full it can feel empty even if you are surrounded by people.
On top of this, I have come into my queerness since moving to London, which has been bittersweet - there is a sense of community, love and life that comes with being part of the queer community, particularly here, that can feel euphoric when you are in that safe bubble however there is all the isolation, pain and fear that comes when that bubble bursts."
