"This piece is looking at self-love and acceptance. It is a shift of focus from previous works, which were about voyeurism and sexuality. I started to look at self in the homoerotic, and the desire to be desired. I chose to work with oil paints because of the rich and vivid colour and depth captured. Also, I have recently been working on recycled wooden surfaces, because I enjoy the element of raw mediums. Artists I was inspired by and looked at regarding this piece are Caravaggio, Jochen Klein and Bill Lynch".
